Nestled at the edge of Tamboti Forest in a secluded area on the Eastern side of the reserve the Tamboti Lodge has an Easterly aspect and overlooks a small private dam. This dam is home to terrapin and serves as a water source for warthog and a variety of antelope which come down to drink at sunrise and sunset. It also serves as a waterhole for passing giraffe and zebra herds as they move across the park. It is a favourite location for waders such as the grey heron, yellow-billed stork, and spoonbill.
